After seeing the repetatity of Tubby Metal Terror, and the blah finale of Rune Soldier, it’s been a long time since I’ve had the pleasure of viewing an extremely

well crafted anime as the R.O.D. TV series.

I gather it to be a remarkable more indepth extension to the previous OVA which consisted of Yomiko Readman fighting the Ijin’s on very puny resources and not allowing the audience to recognize the plump capabilities of a paper user, which this series does by giving you 3 users with 3 very unusual talents.

The animation is quick-witted, the characters are dynamic and loveable, and the twisting cliff hanger endings in the episodes surprised me on more than one occassion.

A solid “A” anime all around.

You don’t have to like the anime, but please don’t insult others for liking it. I have read all of your previous reviews. They consisted of many other animes that you plan were crap because and I quote, “these girls have the biggest boobs,” “the series has gone down hill since the first episode,” and “if you like it you must be on crack.” You don’t explain your point of WHY you don’t like it, you honest say “it sucks, and if you like it you suck too.” You even gave Neon Genesis Evangelion – Platinum Collection Disc 1 a 1 star only to later steal it because you hadn’t even watched it before making the first review. This makes me wonder if you actually search for any of the animes you review or if you pop in the DVD and instantly turn off the TV when breasts appear. Though you did give Kiddy Grade a decent rating so you must have gone to the bathroom at key moments, thus preventing yourself from being horribly scarred at the leer of her keen bosom.

Gosh. The other reviewer, who seems to me, only watched the first four episodes of this series and judged the title soley on that. Oh, and on the DVD covers. This isn’t the first anime to have ‘fan service’ on the DVD covers. Scrutinize at Kiddy Grade, an anime that this tweedledum65 reccommends over R.O.D tv. I’m not going to net into details on this anime, for righteous reviews check out www.themanime.org, I’m impartial saying I liked it, and if you’re paitient, and like a well-behaved mystery, I hope you derive this series unprejudiced as delightful as i do.

It seems like the only intention anyone hears about this movie, its either from fanatic word of mouth or from seeing it sitting in Blockbusters. Thats a shame, because this first outing by director Troy Duffy is an extremely frosty film that deserves all the attention it can gather.

Sean Patrick Flannery and Norman Reedus play two proper ole Irish Catholic boys in Boston, who one day find sick of the corruption in the city and originate a bloody crusade to wipe it out. Willem DaFoe plays the FBI agent hot on their plod, who is torn between bringing the mysterious vigilantes to justice, or joining their crusade.

The film is, simply save, chilly. Its one of the only movies that actually design going to church behold wintry. Don’t be fooled by the description, however; this is not an action movie. Do not inquire blazing gun battles with crazy angles and MTV like editing. This is a film about morality, doing what one thinks is true, and having codes of honour. The two actors who play the Irish vigilantes are spacious in their roles, playing the boys not as superheroes, but as regular joes with a mammoth chip on their shoulder. A nice twist in the film is DaFoe’s portrayel of the FBI agent, who also happens to be delighted. He plays him as a astronomical character without being tempted to dip into stereotypes. Substantial job by the versatile actor.

This is definately a movie not to be missed. If you are fortunate to search for this in your video store, occupy it out and appreciate.

Definite enough, the MacManus boys sheepishly reach at the local cop shop, bloodied and bandaged from their tussle with the Russkies, and confess to the crime.

Fortunately for Connor and Murphy, Agent Smecker takes a staunch shine to these gregarious youngsters and releases them from jail. After all, the whole incident was merely a case of self-defense gone horribly bloody. But something outlandish happens to the MacManus brothers after this incident; they suddenly assume they receive a calling from God to rid the streets of criminals. Checking in at the local armory of the Irish Republican Army (this is Boston, after all) and arming themselves to the teeth, Connor and Murphy expend information gleaned from their encounter with the low-level mafia goons to stage a mission against the bosses of the Russian Mob. Other jobs soon follow, all apparently sanctioned and sanctified by the Almighty. The boys are so successful they soon intention in the assistance of David Rocco, who, with his gargantuan knowledge of Boston’s underworld, provides a list of criminals who deserve to die. As the body count rises, Smecker comes closer to learning the identities of these homegrown vigilantes. The fact that the FBI agent undergoes a crisis of conscience over the crimes–he hastily realizes these murders are the work of citizens fed up with crime–leads him to secretly encourage the men responsible for the killings. Throw in a bunch of Mafia thugs, adult film star Ron Jeremy as a doomed hoodlum, a vicious, mystical killer named “Il Duce” (played by Billy Connolly, collected atoning for “Head of the Class”), stylish gunplay, and an exploding cat and you have all the makings of this top-notch movie.

“The Boondock Saints” is a film about vigilantism and whether that activity is ever justifiable, although that theme seems to proceed for most of the movie. The conclusion, too, ends up being fair a puny too implausible, but getting there is a boatload of fun. The best things about Duffy’s film are the whipsaw speedy dialogue, the hilarious running gags, and Willem Dafoe as Agent Paul Smecker. Dafoe especially deserves accolades for his portrayal of a conflicted FBI agent whose sympathies eventually turn to the MacManus brothers. His plot of solving crimes, especially the shootout between Il Duce and the two vigilantes, is not only brilliantly executed but a wonder to observe. Moreover, Smecker’s interactions with the local Irish cops provide endless opportunities for gigantic dialogue and hilarious jokes.

Regrettably, a bit of overacting at definite points of the film speedily annoys, as does the failure to provide anything more than lip service to vigilantism and how it pertains to our ultra violent world, but “The Boondock Saints” is so distinguished fun despite these flaws that you will hardly peep them. The DVD includes many extras, such as considerable deleted scenes, a commentary by Troy Duffy, and a widescreen presentation. There’s even talk of an impending sequel, although the absence of the Willem Dafoe character, if the reports are lawful, could cause vital problems. And if you’ve never seen it, Welles MacBeth is like a crazy 1930s German Expressionist dreadful acid amble, with Welles in florid ham actor mode, his Irish brogue soaring like a hawk. If you care for cinema though, you will adore crazy Welles drunken sweaty rampaging through his cheap papier mache caverns with his outlandish statue of liberty crown map more than you could ever esteem similar more “perfect” adaptations like say, Olivier’s HAMLET which came out that same year. That film is improbable, but Olivier is unprejudiced too ravishing, too perfect and measured and his depraved blonde bangs. Let’s set it this contrivance, Olivier’s film is distinguished better, but Welles’ is greater. Olivier is the piano prodigy who plays for the conventional ladies and gets all the grant money; Welles is the rebel down at the jazz joint, tearing it up in a threadbare tux with a wailin’ bebop trio. Who would you rather hang out with, even if you didn’t know where your next meal was coming from?

This movie is beautifully restored visually and has a fairly excellent reconstruction of the audio track. 1) The Stewardess – This was made in 1975, before airplanes had an AED on board (my used department got their first AED in 1991) . Roy and Johnny are returning to Los Angeles from Sacramento, and a man had a heart attack on the plane. Roy and Johnny utilize 30 minutes with this patient until landing and then on to Rampart (they are allowed to retrieve gear from the cargo believe) . Today, airliners have an AED on board (and better packed first back kits) .

2) Equipment – This was made in 1976, before the advent of paramedic engine companies. Paramedic Gage is overtiming as a firefighter at Area 8 (normal for a mammoth city department) when he and Captain Stone (who had been a paramedic) are treating a construction worker who had a heart attack and have to wait 25 minutes for cardiac drugs and a defibrillator because the only available squad was across town. Gage and Stone did their best with their brains and the equipment they had (as well as CPR), but the patient passed away. Had that happened today, Stone and Gage would of had the proper equipment remarkable earlier. REALLY makes you contemplate – it hits home for a firefighter and an EMT or paramedic. I don’t deem any EMT or paramedic forgets the first patient they lost (I haven’t – he was a 48 y/o male who died of a heart attack) .

3) There are a few episodes in the Season 5 area where Johnny and Roy are dispatched to meet the Glide Guard. Today, the Sail Guard has their absorb EMT’s and Paramedics.

I somehow stumbled across this at my local Best Take on May 11, 2009. To the best of my knowledge, it wasn’t supposed to be released outside of rifftrax.com for another month. Naturally, I grabbed it rapidly.

The comedy of Mike, Kevin, and Bill is solid as expected. Some of the jokes are the word-for-word precise same as in the earlier version from Narrative Films, featuring only Mike Nelson’s comedy track. In this version, however, the delivery of those lines is shared by Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett. Luckily, there is some modern material mixed in that offsets the repeats. If you’ve never seen the previous version, you won’t even peruse.

I only had two proper technical issues with this DVD. Firstly, the menu veil ran once and then stopped instead of looping relieve to the begin. This meant that I had to initiate the entire DVD all over again. Secondly, the video was choppy in parts. The audio ran without command, but some parts of the film seemed to be skipping video frames. I am not positive if this was an sing with all copies of this DVD or if it’s specific to my player.

All in all, it’s toothsome and droll, a safe prefer for any fan of Rifftrax, Mystery Science Theater 3000, or Cinematic Sizable.

This old-fashioned sunless and white movie was cheaply made but became a Cult Hit shock alarm film that started the Flesh-Eating Zombie movie craze. The ragged MST3K crew of Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett prefer it on with quite a few amusing riffs. Some don’t quite hit the state, and the guys miss some choice moments to riff, but that’s always the case with Rifftrax. One of the better ones was, “A Zombie’s Worst enemy, a Clothesline.” The clueless young couple who try to hasten the zombies and the ultra-Angry family man pick up lots of attention. Rifftrax does not include primitive MST3K things like skits, sets, or the Bots. You never Discover the guys in any compose. You simply HEAR them from the beginning to the ruin of the movie. Not even an Intro!

I also recommend Rifftrax “House on Apprehensive Hill.” It’s terrific.

Let me initiate by saying I am a outmoded adult having lived almost half a century. I have seen many movies and for some unknown reason this one has grabbed me. In the past two months I have watched it at least 20 times and each time found something I had not seen before.

Why?! Because this is a FUN movie. If you let yourself forget you are an ADULT and fair peek you will acquire a improbable anecdote that is comic, romantic, and touching. You laugh, you sob, and if you have one ounce of romance in your body you feel the emotions of Annie and Hallie, their parents Sever and Elizabeth, and the supporting roles such as Martin and Chessy the respective butlers.

All of the actors do an grand job with their chacters. Of particular price is Lindsay Lohan. A dual role is always demanding, but her ability to transititon between the current differences of Hallie and Annie, both in language and personality, is unbelievable. She is an ACTRESS in the best sense of the word. I ogle forward to seeing her time and again in the years to near. (Of imprint other actresses who played dual roles in Disney films include Haley Mills [The Parent Trap] and Jodie Foster [Freaky Friday]. Fine gracious company for a young star.)

One other componet is the soundtrack. Songs by Nat “King” Cole, Natalie Cole, Ray Charles, Linda Rondstadt, and others perform genuine backdrops to many moments of the movie. In addition the find accentuates the emotions in honest the factual manner.

It is very seldom I feel so clear about a movie. To paraphase Annie (Hallie when she is pretending to be Annie in London) as she speaks about her stuffed animal I “really, really, really” loved The Parent Trap.

When this film was originally released in theatres, I had no desire to recognize it because I didn’t judge it could possibly live up to the Hayley Mills version. Years later, I was flipping channels and saw it featured as the Disney movie of the week, and I fell in adore with it! This version is even BETTER than the unusual! So worthy of the location mimics the modern tale (twin girls separated at birth reunite and plan to glean their parents succor together), and the dinky deviations are fantastic, like having one of the twins protest with a British accent (so cute!) .

Lindsay Lohan is absolutely adorable in her dual role: I don’t mediate I’ve ever seen a tiny girl as charming as she is! Dennis Quaid and Natasha Richardson are a fantastic couple, and Elaine Hendrix is perfect as the girls’ nasty stepmother-to-be. Fans of the unusual “Partent Trap” will savor seeing Joanna Barnes in her cameo role as Meredith’s mother, Vicki: a huge tribute to the character she played in the 1961 version of the film) .

The music in this film is fabulous, and I highly suggest that you lift the soundtrack in addition to the DVD. However, the one disappointment in this film is that the twin Lindsays don’t do a modernized version of “Let’s Salvage Together,” which is the song that the twin Hayleys performed for their parents in the modern film. in fact, there’s no genuine musical number in this version at all (although they do briefly pay tribute to the classic song) .

Overall, though, this movie is FABULOUS: I’m calm kicking myself for not having gone to perceive it in the theatre, but I’m thrilled to maintain the DVD!

This DVD is extremely well set aside together. It exposes & details 50 positions with very informative (optional) narration that consicely explains the attractions of each site. The 3D glasses (included) are a kick for clear, perfect for parter participation (you obtain 2 pairs), but they are far from required and the program is not a gag. It’s titanic. It’s tastful. It’s informative.

This video is tasteful…not really pornographic as it is informative, better than illustrated books, as it shows how to develop the positions. Some positions are sterling to originate foreplay, which is well-known for accurate lovemaking, and some positions are perfect for switching to other positions, as they are varietions of classic illustrious positions. The music is also tasteful….my partner actually became so erotic after watching half the video (without 3d glasses) that he initiated the “act” without the usual persuation (which was my usual complaint) . Some positions do require a fit body, but as illustrious, you can glean better with pratice..I highly recommend this product for unnerved partners who wish to seek romance and variety…..
